Craftastic.

I would by no means describe myself as a crafty person but I'm on a crafty kick that I think has been spurred by my recent need to organized everything in my house and my obsession with Pinterest.  Pinterest is such a great way to share ideas, it's visually appealing, fun, easy and full of fantastic things!  I'm in love.  Thanks to Pinterest I've recently done the following projects:

Melted Crayon Canvas (this is my favorite):

So easy, so cheap and oh so beautiful.  This is the blog post that I referenced.  All you need is a canvas (Hobby Lobby $12.99), 120 box of Crayons ($4.50), hot glue, and a hair dryer.  Abby, Natalie and one of the neighbor girls loved watching the whole process and I also thought it was pretty cool.  Now I just need to decide where to hang it.  You should do it and let me know if you do!

Decoupaged Fabric Letters

This was my first experience with Mod Podge, it was so easy and I love the finished product!  I just used an extra pillowcase from Abby's bedding, mod podge, and cardboard letters from Hobby Lobby and Ta Da that's it!!  I was inspired by Kelle over at Enjoying the Small Things.  (One of my favorite blogs!)

Padded Boards:
I also made two padded boards for two different purposes.  I made one to put in the girls' bathroom to hold all their hair accessories and one for Abby for her to display things that are special to her.

These turned out ok, they serve their purpose but I'd do a few things differently next time.  They were super easy.  I used a piece of cardboard (from a box in the garage), fabric, quilt batting, staples, ribbon and hot glue for the buttons.  I think I might make another one for Abby that's much bigger so she will have more room to display all the artwork she brings home from school....

I'm quite proud of my self and my crafts.  Seriously I've never really done any crafts before and it's quite rewarding to make something yourself I must say.  More projects to come...

Someone's got skills! I love the "READ" in Abby's room, in particular!
